Nice nails, it's the complete works!

As the wife of a hairdresser I often hear, "wow you are so lucky you must always get your hair done when you go out, you've got your own personal stylist" unfortunately the answer to that is no - I think there's a saying about "cobblers bairns", for that read "hairdressers wives"! However this weekend I was proved wrong (I am delighted to say). A trip to the salon left Lisa a happy wife, not only did I get a my hair cut and coloured (on the same day which is very unusual!) I am also sporting some fantastic new nails.

We're delighted to welcome Stephanie on board as a new member of the team, she's a nail technician and will be working in the salon on Fridays and Saturdays (or even more if needed!) and I cannot recommend her enough. Having been a sceptic about "Calgel" nails and wondering what all the fuss was about I'm delighted to say I'm a convert and I am now sporting some lovely new nails. Mmmm, I think that it might be by new obsession (and perhaps more frequent visits to the salon will also mean more new hairstyles, but I'll need to be convinced on that!)

Winter weather and leaking roofs....

Hello all, welcome to our first blog..... it's been a funny few weeks here at Scott Robb Hairdressing, after our usual manic and crazy December period we're always set for a slightly more sensible start to the year. However, with all the bad weather in Fife recently our clients have really found travelling a bit of a struggle, we've missed seeing a few familiar faces in the salon and look forward to seeing them again soon.
But alas with this bad weather there always has to be a winner and for us there are two members of the team who has been particularly enjoying the weather
  1. The salon's resident dog Holly loves snow! For those of you who've met Holly in the salon you'll know her as shy and timid, rest assured if you'd met her outside in the last few weeks crazy and confident are the best two words to describe her (here she is enjoying the snow!)
  2. And Scott! Scott is a closet weather geek so all of this snow, low dew points and easterly winds have had his head spinning with facts, figures and general weather excitement!
So it's fair to say we've spent most of January juggling around appointments for clients to make sure we can see them in the salon when they can make it out of their houses - ladies we all know how cranky we get when our hair needs attention and we can't get it done ..... in fact I'd be interested to know what are the most extreme lengths you've gone to to ensure a trip to the hairdressers wasn't missed?
Oh yes and leaking roofs ....we've been dealing with our own little bad weather disaster in the form of a frozen flat roof and the leak that's caused, but we're glad to say it's in the staff room, so other than the team having to be a bit creative, it's business as usual!
So thanks for reading our first blog (short and sweet!), we're sure there will be many more to come and from all different members of the team - we're lining up all the latest tips and trends for the year ahead so keep your eyes peeled and as a thank you for reading this blog you can claim a 20% discount off of your next appointment, when booking just use the code BLOG1
